God’s
goodness is totally reveled on the cross. God gave away his one and begotten
Son for sinful mankind, and worst of all sinners, ‘I’. Christ born in a manger,
born man and grew as man and God. He went through every temptation I went
through and every human kind could go through to prove to us that He has been
tempted and He knows it all. He doesn’t just know it all, He knows how grieve
temptations could be and how easily we humans could fall for the least
temptation, thus He gave us His grace and the Holy Spirit.
It is not just that,
He knows what makes a temptation is, it’s offer for pleasure, joy and
satisfaction which mankind could easily fall for. Thus God doesn’t just give
the grace to overcome temptations but will to either overcome or overcomed by
temptation. Knowing man’s nature it is clear, man would definitely fall for a
temptation, the fallen flesh of Adam easily desires short lasting pleasure than
anything. From the beginning, Eve saw the apple to be pleasing to the eye, the
trend continues and mankind easily falls.
However,
short lasting pleasures of sin are always followed by long lasting guilt,
condemnation and remorse. Thousands of years before Christ are ample evidence
for the nature of mankind that man could never ever pay for his/her sins. Lots
of sacrifices wouldn’t do it, a moment after repentance man is back into the
fallen behavior.
Christ
born of a virgin Mary, destined with His Father to pay for all sins of mankind,
who lived and passed, who were living and even take part in crucifying the Son
of God, and we who are to come and to live. God predestined us, knew us before
we were made in our mother’s womb, and put away all mankind’s past, present and
future sins on His Son.
There
is no need for mankind to describe the guilt and remorse that comes with sin,
in our context both the most evil human and so called good man know it. God who
sees through the inner most of mankind knows this. Thus He not only put away
our sin on the cross but every single guilt, condemnation, remorse, pain that
comes with sin. In excruciating pain, as every whip fell on His back, with every blood drop, with every sound of the hammer to let the nails into His hands and
feet, Christ the Son of God sees your face, my face through His not tears, but
blood filled eyes. In such excruciating pain, He never regrets cus he knows the
number of brothers and sisters He is winning into His kingdom, into His family.
Again,
as always, Christ never forced himself into anyone’s life, God said, “whosoever
believes in my Son has everlasting life.” Christ even after 2000 years is still
calling to you and me, arms wide open, arms with the scars from the nail, ‘come
to me, I will give abundant life, joy and peace.’

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for
the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a
good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own
love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom 5:
6-8
If the world had to be crush into pieces, be it by hurricane, earthquake, war, infants dying, abuse, reject, neglect….nothing
absolutely nothing can prove God not to be good. He finished goodness on the
cross; That is it!!
